About HBSCA

Humber Bay Shores Condominium Association (HBSCA) was established in 1997 as a not-for-profit corporation to represent the interests of residents in the Humber Bay Shores area. HBSCA is a volunteer-based organization whose members include the condominium corporations in the area Member Corporations It creates one voice for the interests of the condominium owners to make positive changes to our neighbourhood, so that politicians, planners, developers and others stop and listen when the HBSCA speaks. Some of HBSCA's objectives are:

  • protecting, fostering, and advancing the interests of condominium owners in and around the Humber Bay Shores area:
  • making representations to all levels of government for the enactment, amendment, or repeal of legislation dealing with, but not limited to, all aspects of condominium ownership, real estate development, and usage of real property, in the area; and
  • carrying on research and investigation into problems connected with the ownership, development, management, financing, and promotion of real property in the area.

What are HBSCA's Goals?

  1. Continue working with city and TTC staff to ensure that traffic and other infrastructure issues are addressed as the neighbourhood experiences significant increase in density, and that these issues are resolved as development occurs, not after!
  2. Develop a comprehensive plan to make the Humber Bay Shores area the greenest in the City of Toronto, by actively promoting and encouraging recycling and reducing waste, which will have a significant influence on the levies charged by the city for trash pick up.
  3. Pursue the establishment of a buying group, to take advantage of quantity discounts that will benefit residents, and that may be available in connection with services such as landscaping, snow clearing, and similar services.
  4. Work with developers and planners to ensure that our area include the services, shopping, restaurants and other amenities we need. We want a waterfront community supporting local businesses, not just a collection of high-rise buildings where residents must drive to supply basic needs.
  5. Ensure that our community’s response to applications for additional development, such as the northwest corner of Lake Shore and Park Lawn, is managed in a proactive and professional way.
